Her Choc O’ Choice Dough

If I had the opportunity to work alongside Ben & Jerry’s to use the marketing of an ice cream flavor to raise awareness regarding social change, I would choose to advocate for women’s health care regarding pro-choice. Her Choc O Choice Dough would be a cookie dough ice cream flavor that celebrates a woman’s freedom to choose the best option for herself. The funds would be allocated towards Planned Parenthood and the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project. The why for my passion regarding this issue stems from not only my identity as a woman, but the way I honor the frameworks of the U.S. Constitution. The pro-choice argument sounds self-explanatory, but I believe everyone should have the right to choose. The American ideal of freedom essentially embodies that one’s freedom is limitless until it infringes on the freedom of another. Under the 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution under the Due Process clause, countless advocates have fought to include a woman’s right to choose as a part of her right to liberty. As a Political Science major, who is dedicated to the endless pursuit of improving not only the United States of America but human rights as a whole, this topic and its relevance to the U.S. Constitution has captured my heart, my thoughts, and my unwavering commitment to have these conversations and spread awareness. As a feminist and advocate for every human being’s freedom to choose and find happiness in this lifetime, it is important to increase the education surrounding this topic and not demonize and create a stigma around a woman’s freedom to choose. The influential power that Ben & Jerry’s hold would aid in de-stigmatizing this topic through a fun and tasty yet classic flavor which aligns with the classic controversy that has surrounded Roe v Wade for decades. The revenue from a classic chocolate chip cookie dough ice-cream flavor would generate an impactful amount of money to aid countless struggling women in America through Planned Parenthood and the WRRA as well as promote education and respectful public discourse surrounding this topic. After all, it is Her Choc O’ Choice Dough.
